Twenty Years Later.

An historical perspective on the politics of hang gliding and paragliding pilots with respect to FAA regulations, safety and political clout. I used the history of relations between sailplane pilots and hang gliders pilot to point out mistakes I thought were being repeated with paraglider pilots.

As I predict in my article, paragliding does become a player in recreational aviation. Fortunately the national hang gliding association does adopt paragliders as a distinct class of hang glider and initiates standards of aircraft construction and pilot training.
