Review of a Gatefold Brochure

As lead technical writer for Venus-Gusmer, I was out of the country on assignment when an independent contractor produced the "Duck Brochure." The piece follows my design style grid and guidelines. However, style guides and layout grids do not a writer or designer make.

I use this piece to demonstrate three categories of problems
  • Weak written content
  • Lack of advertising concepts
  • Poor organization of material
On page two, the reader is greeted with the introductory paragraph. You may review my editorial comments and deep-level edit (rewrite) of the first paragraph here or by clicking on the first paragraph on page two. (Use the navigation bar at the top of the page to step through the brochure).

I also review the second column's features list for effectiveness as an advertising tool.
